Hello i have a strange problem i have burned 9 games for  backups for my xbox 360 console. 2 are fine the other 7 either cannot read the disc or just show the xbg360 logo i have checked the images with agbx360 which shows no errors i have also followed your setup with imageburn, all my games are PAL apart from 2 which are region free . My media i have used are Elite DVD+R DL supported burn speeds are 4x,6x and 8x . I tried to drop to 2.4x but it imageburn reported a burn speed mismatch which then changed the write speed to 3.3x Weird how 2 games work fine and the other 7 just dont boot or dont read can anyone please advise?

I am having the same issues but havent had any successful burns out of 8 DVDs so far. I am not sure if it is my burner, my media or just me. I am using Fujifilm Dual Layer DVDs cause that was all I could find at the moment and DVD Idintifier is showing these DVDs being made by Rioch. I tried to make the Activate.iso DVD and that has now failed 4 times for me. Burn 1 only used a small portion of the DVD on the inner part of the surface and took an hour to finalize.Burn 2 resulted in only burning on the inner section of the DVD and there were lines within the burned section and it was obvious it was a bad burn. Then I figured out how to update my drives firmware. Well this helped some. Burn 3 resulted on the the DVD looking like it had writing on the whole DVD and took an hour to finalize. Well the Xbox wont read that DVD either. It just goes to the xbox menu and then shows the option to open tray.

I have a BenQ drive that I put Iextreme 1.61 on and it plays my storebought games just fine.
o you guy think my media is the issue or the DVD Burner? The burner is a generic brand drive made by Magicspin. I am burning the DVDs at 2.4 speed and am using Imgburn. I am really frustrated at the moment and want to try some Verbatum media but I cant find any locally. I just dont have he cash at the moment to buy a spindle of DVDs.

What do you guys think my issue is? The media the burner or the operator?

What firmware version are you using? It almost sounds asif you need to update or use activate.iso

Could be the disks, or the burner going if it's not the above.

Any DL Burner should be fine as all as it ant 3 years old anything that old is just asking for a upgrade.

What DVD+R DL Media to Use ?

The X-S have been using Verbatim 95310  20 Pack DVD+R DL Spindle for along time so there should be no problems  burning your games using the right burn Speed using Verbatim disc.

What is DVD-9 - 8.5GB ?

A  DVD-9 is constructed of two stamped substrates bonded together to form  two recorded layers for one side of the disc, along with a blank  substrate for the other side. The outer stamped Layer (0) is coated  with a semitransparent gold coating to both reflect light if the laser  is focused on it and pass light if the laser is focused on the layer  below. A single laser is used to read both layers; only the focus of  the laser is changed.
