Beatles Backup Just Hangs, Black Screen, No Errors
« on: November 18, 2009, 11:20:00 AM »

I've got my own rip of The Beatles Rock Band, it verifies with ABGX, burned at 2.4x to Verbatim discs.  It gets past the Harmonix, Apple Corps, WB logos, I hear the DVD seeking for a while and then it seems to stop seeking, but it continues to spin.  The screen stays black, no errors, nothing at all, indefinitely.  I've burned another disc just to be sure, same thing.  I usually run this system at 5x.  It did load once, after I flashed to 12x and also cleared the song cache, but I think it was a fluke because I can't reproduce it.  Something else strange is I was able to copy it to the hard drive from the backup without issue, at 5x.  It loaded every time from the hard drive, but this box got banned and now I'm back to playing from DVD.  The original loads fine.  I'm not sure of what else to check.  I could try another rip, but since all the CRCs match up, I don't see how that could make any difference.

Any thoughts?

Make sure you connect your controller first before starting the game. If no controller is detected the game will not start up. (black screen)  cool.gif Took a while to figure that out.

Well, I'm using the guitar controller to launch the game from the dashboard.  Is that what you mean?

This is the exact thing that happens to me as well, I play with a wired drum controller and it hangs at black screen, I would have to go back to dashboard and then try it again and again until it finally boots all the way, very weird!!!! And the game IS installed on my hard drive, so that makes it even more weird.

I've got my own rip of The Beatles Rock Band, it verifies with ABGX,

I read this and just stop reading the rest, Don't verify at all Read My guide Pinned:: **HOW TO CREATE WORKING 360 BACKUPS

If it's a newer game use Schtrom360 Xtract and read the Readme File along with the FW Readme file

BIG NOTE: SS v2 very simply consists of a duplicate angle value for response types 7 and 5 stored in c4eva's C/R replay table and was added in iXtreme v1.6. Older 0800 ripping firmwares and Kreon's firmware will record the angle just once, which results in SS v1. The problem is that Kreon's firmware does not do an actual measurement to get the angle, but simply uses preset angles that all games currently use and applies a small jitter to them. Storing the angle twice allows us to be fairly certain that this is a real angle measurement made by an actual Xbox 360 drive.

IXtreme 1.61 fw for Benq and Samsung drives! Liteon drive's with FWv1.6 wait for (Lite Touch) or use Activate iso.

Features
--------
-Strict Wave 4 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!

-Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!

-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!

-Support for SS V2! Don't use Kreon drives for making Backups use your x360 drive

-Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2! use your x360 drive to make backups allinone Love it!

-Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc!

-One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!

-Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon!

-Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!

I know how to rip properly.  I don't normally use ABGX, I only ran it against the burned disc to make sure my game data matched, and it did.

In any case, this is on a banned 360 running BenQ 1.41 non-stealth.  If the game is loading, how could it have anything to do with SSv2 angles or the rest of it?

Yeah your right about the SSv2 I though it was Wave 4 it's Wave 3 sorry.  sad.gif

Thanks but as I said, this is on a banned console, so no copy to hard drive.

Also as I mentioned, it is iX 1.41 non-stealth, which does no wave checking.
