Yes, you must patch EvoX M8 to add LBA48 support.

Use EVTool to do this. http://home.alltel.n...shd/evtool.html

i had the same problem mate but i found out that when you open m8 in evtool it automatically enables lba48 so just open it set the size to what you want then save it job done.

Why would you download such a large file to access such a small file when you could just edit it?

bull shit how do you know that the slayers disc wont fry your box just as much chance. Anyway if you knew anything you would know that you can verify the bios.

Why not learn WTF is going on instead of grabbing slayers like a helpless n00b  blink.gif

All you have to do is open m8 in evtool and save it. There is no real margin of error in doing that  wink.gif

You do realize that any edited bios included with Slayers was probably edited with Xbtool right?

Besides, there's nothing in Xbtool that would cause you to fry your Xbox, unless you purposely changed the boot order (which you can easily recover from, especially if you have a chip) or if you made it a bfm bios, in which case, you could just reflash the chip.

And programs in slayers can become outdated pretty quickly (DVD2xbox and XBMC for example). And also, the time you spend downloading slayers you could hop on xbins and download and install the apps and still have room left over.

a couple things.. i am not a noob..dont talk to me like one..i made a suggestion to someonewho however is..not everyone is willing to make changes themselves..and yes if you screw up the bios u can in fact screw a 1.6 board.and u talk about time d/l progs..it is faster 4 me to d/l slayers evox with all progs.. takes about 5 minutes for me to d/l so i have no problems getting it and yes i do d/l progs when new versions come out oh and if u fukk the bios not every modchip is reflashable with great ease

Exactly...

Another good point.

If I came off as a jerk earlier, I apologize, I just hate these stupid installer discs that people rely on. I think half the fun is learning about the apps, how to install them, configuring them, upgrading them, etc...

Something like Xbtool and EvTool everyone should learn to use imho, rather than relying on Slayers as a crutch...  beerchug.gif

yeah ten minutes later you are still trying to find an efnet channel but yes i do go to xbins and get all the bios files they have..but u tell a noob go to "the usual places" and they will be lost and i figured the bios, the ability to flash without a programmer and no need to figure out "the usual places" would be easier cause u can find slayers evox alot easier than xbins. so sorry if telling a noob the simple way is wrong.
