Subtitle Timing....

The subtitles i have seem to be 20seconds off when they are supposed to show up.. is there a way to change when the subtitles should come on so it is in sync?

i'm interested in an answer too

i recently watched a weirdo French movie ('Irreversible'), and the subs were popping up like 20 seconds early

made for an interesting experience   :D   <

Funny on mine they seem to be reasonable in terms of timing but I am now getting subtitles with the 4/09 releases that I never got before...

How do I turn off the subtitles I am getting by default in XBMC?

i'd like to know to (the original question)  Bought some HK subs of Orguss..
man is it painful subs are atleast a second off.  any way to slow them down?
(and i dont mean slow down how long they stay on the screen like the current feature)  <
