Finalizing Disc Error... Still Works In 360. Safe?
« on: October 16, 2009, 02:47:00 PM »

As my thread title explains, My cheap amazonbasics media (holy god these things suck) fail 90% of the time. I found that burning at 4x sometimes works, but a couple of times I have not been able to finalize the disc.. power calibration area error. I'm using a sony optiarc 7241s (got it yesterday) and have upgraded the firmware to the newest custom firmware.

Anyways! I'm having a terrible time with this media, and was wondering if it's ok to play a game that is not finalized, since it seems to work fine in the 360.
Thanks!

I would guess that it would be safe. The issue is the cheap media. If you use cheap disk you should expect to have alot of failures. It is also bad for the laser on your 360's drive so that will also cause a problem down the road if you continue using cheap disk.
