Best Dvd Burner For Burning 360 Games?
« on: February 02, 2020, 09:55:00 PM »

I'm trying to find the best dvd burner for burning 360 games. The one I had just started burning coasters.
Also, are the best discs to use still Verbatim DLs burned at 2.4X?

Thanks

Yes verbatims are best, but as far as burners, I've found many many models are fine.

i've managed to burn up several samsung burners and a lite-on.  now i am giving plextor a chance.  i'll let you know how it works out if they are both still kicking in a year.  so far they have been great and at $40 a pop they are a steal compared to what they were selling for even a year ago.

Hm. I remember there being a "best" drive when I bought my last one.

Is there a chance the coasters are because of bad discs? I use Verbatims burned at 2.4x bought on Newegg. I remember people saying you could get a bad batch.

Back in the early days, people used to swear by the Pioneer drives (106 or 107 was the model at the time, although I think they're up to 117 (IDE) or 217 (SATA) now). I've always had one and never had any issues with 'em (apart from wearing them out). These days though, I think most makes are fine, with possibly a firmware update, as I hear stories of people using allsorts.

I have 2 IDE Pioneer 117d's, can burn 2 images at once no problems.

Bought the IDE's by mistake, meant to buy SATA, but I have been happy.

They tend to burn slower by default, which is good.
