Hmmm. You might want to invest into a Pioneer drive. I was a devout Sony NEC user but since using my new Pioneer DVR 116D, I have no idea why that was the case.  blink.gif My Pioneer rivals it!

Sometimes it will be the drive which will be picky with certain media. What exact Sammy writer are you using?
