Samsung Sh-d163 As External?
« on: April 21, 2009, 01:33:00 AM »

I have just got a samsung sh-d163 SATA with Kreon 1.0.

Tried putting it in my comp and realised i have no room for it, unless i take out my current dvd drive.

Can i use the kreon drive to burn the games and as a regular dvd player?

I have seen there are issues with some USB External drives. Is there any other solution for this? perhaps a external caseing that works??

cheers for the help or links

Save your money. The D163B is a dvd rom drive and still functions normally when flashed with kreon FW. Therefore it will still read your dvd's, but remember its not a burner.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

i use my kreon as external with a cheapo sata-to-usb converter... keep ur burner internal(it can do more for you)... i detach my kreon and put it away when im not using it
