Pfi Mismatch In Xbc
« on: March 16, 2009, 07:01:00 AM »

hey guys, im attempting my first back up of hawx

im using verbatim dvd+r dl 8x

i ripped the game, and when testing it in xbc it comes up with;

security sector pass
pfi sector fail (validation failed: pfi mismatch)
dmi sector pass
media id not tested
video file system no tested
splitvid format not tested

the size of the image of the backup is 7.29 GB (7,838,695,424 bytes)

when tested in abgx360gui, with verbosity level high, it comes up with

game appears to have random padding
ss looks valid
dmi looks valid
pfi matches known data
video partition matches known data
stealth check passed
video crc matches
v0 crc matches
v1 crc matches
pfi crc matches
dmi crc matches
ss crc matches
xex crc matches
anydvd style corruption was not detected
game crc - 95096d6c (matches)

all crcs match

verification successful

im assuming xbc fails with pfi, is cause the 3rd wave? im not sure, first backup and burn

i burnted with 8x dvd+r dl, at 6x, put it in my xbox, it sees the hawx disk, and when tries to load, just loads to a black screen, and i cant do anything until i eject, then it unfreezes.

any help? burn at a lower speed? not a good backup? tips?

thanks guys for the help.

yes its the third wave thats causing you problems you have picked the worst game to back up,you have to run original game first to do the software updates built into the game , then using xdvdmullet to rebuild your iso and patch a 2nd wave pfi and video partion file them then reburn,or update your firmware in your xbox drive to 1.51 and use the games that you burnt first and the patched ones will work too.As you can see its very long winded and maybe best to hang on as there may be a easier solution on the horizon

my drive is ixtreme 1.51

and i have updated from original disk.

i thought backups of the game was fine with the 3rd wave, all you needed was 1.51.

You are fine with 1.51 and running Hawx, as updating from the original disc is not necessary for your backup is ok after XBC2.8 and it is fine to use your backup in your system for updating. XBC needs an update which will aid in the reading of the new XMB partion section of the video image. XBC just simply cannot read this information until an update to allow the software to check for this. Your backup is ok after burning and the utilization of 1.51 FW. I had the same problem and threw away 2 perfectly good backups after thinking they were toast. At least that's what I've read here on the forums.

So when it says PFI failed in XBC, should I just select burn anyway and will my backup work?

as long as you have 1.5.1 firmware, yes.
