Question With Wxripper
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:35:00 PM »

Another note after exploring the iso that pops out there are 2 folders in it. 1 called AUDIO_TS which is empty, the ther is VIDEO_TS with some VOB files and some other stuff.

Also this is my layout info for spiderman 3:

C19408
D1072
D109344
C1783936
J258272
C1783936
J0

Don't know if that'll help

Don't change the layout file, and post back if you get any CRC errors and copy/paste the log / which ones.

J258272

FYI. That number is magic number. The magic number is tired to what DVD you are using, i.e Spider Man. If you use Spider Man for all your rips it will always be the same and you can use the same layout file.

Keep that in mind if change movies...

Also I think the CRC errors might depends on what drive you use for ripping, don't quote me on that @@. It might just be the games I've backed up but all my games get a CRC error @ 89088 (but from what I've read a CRC error @ 89088 is common), therefore I use this layout file for all my rips.

C19408
D1072
C89087
D20257
C1783936
J215520
C1783936

Notice how my magic number is different.

I'm sorry, i don't quite catch what your saying.  unsure.gif I'm not getting any crc errors at all, everything says "done", it just takes about 10 seconds opposed to the normal 30-40 minutes, and a 227 meg iso comes out as opposed to a 7.5 gig iso.

My buddy says it sounds like it can't read the vob files correctly off spiderman 3 b/c he thinks it's copy protected, hence that's why i'm getting a 227 meg only iso-it's skipping right over the meat of the dvd. I don't know if this is true but i'm gonna try some other dvd's.

I don't get it....if the dvd is 7.9 gigs, why is a friggin 227 meg file coming out?

Are you saying to try your layout with my games?

Try and rip the game but don't change the layout file, don't even touch it. THEN try and rip the game. This will tell you if it's your layout file or if it's your dvd.

Make sure you don't have any programs running that could interfere with the rip, like AnyDVD, maybe VMWare etc.

wxripper method will not give you a playable backup.

Buy a Kreon or flash a compatible 360 drive.

Wxripper requires Illegally obtaining copyrighted files, making it NOT allowed here.
