Disk Unreadable Error
« on: February 20, 2009, 09:38:00 PM »

I'm seriously baffled by this error. I flashed my Samsung Ms-25 today and the flashing process seemed to go well. I popped in a backup and I got the error. So I researched this and I decided to crack the box open again and clean the lens with some rubbing alcohol. I did that and still no luck. The media I am using is Memorex. I heard some bad stories and some good stories about this media. I do not know why the 360 would be picky with media brand. Well the discs are DVDR+DL. I burned the backups at 2.4x and they all do not work. The closest I get to a boot is a black screen and the drive spinning and trying to read the disc. Also, a rather weird thing is that the 360 identifies what game it is, since it's picture shows up on the dashboard but it does not boot. If anyone can help me that would be really great.

I wasted a 15 pack of memorex with them all being coasters. Invest in verbatim made in Singapore.

Samsung drives are picking on how you burn them too....make sure to try and burn it as dvd-rom

Yer sounds like your burn process is correct, its just the media letting you down. Invest in the Verbs, they are a little bit more expensive but will work close to %100 of the time. If the verbs dont work, then it prob your dvd burner or the samsung.

I use AonePlus, imageburn sees it as RITEK, they are THE most cheapest DLs and they all work.
I ordered 50 and burned about 20 so far so good.

How are you making your backups?  The proccess you are using to make the backups could also cause this type of problem.
