Honestly I think the 50pks are all actually made in India since they are 2.4x rated since Singapore is making the newer, higher speed blanks, but that's just my theory.

based on what ^^ , why is it impossible to have production in two places?

A theory must have at least some supporting fact  wink.gif , sorry but this mostly sound like a baseless shot. Unless some real info  came out on this. It would be nice to have it.

Why would Mitsubishi , who honestlyy indicated early its move of some of the production to india, now lie about this?? Their 2.4 media (MKM001) are indecently underrated (at 2.4x) in terms of specs, people have been buning them at 4x, 6 x even 8x with incredible results.
Even their MII media are way better than other manufacturer, in fact their only issue is not being as consistent as the MIS, but even in that category the predictability of a MII is still better than any other Ritek, Ricoh... by an order of magnitude. They are the only brand that wroks for 99.9% of the setup, with others you may get lucky or not.

If I missed some info, sorry about that, but if not this is the type of comment that starts endless rumors.

Here is  scan of Burn on MII and MIS respectively, any who know how to read this will tell you it is pretty good

and finally a compare to a Ritek

BTW not saying that other brand will not work , just that statistically you increase your chance greatly.

nice scans, theres not a huge difference between the mii and mis,
the ritek on the other hand is not so great, i wouldnt be happy with them.

soso, have you had good success with mii media, i havent tried it yet as i have always been able to find mis..

for me 4x and 6x appear to read better than 2.4x writes, yet to try 8x... i use the 8x printable mis with a 115d writer...

im gonna burn one at 8x just for the fun of it, if it works well i might try 10x as the choice is offered... unfortunately my scanning drive died a while ago.

Difference In Older And Newer 2.4x Mis Verbs?

MIS 8x (MKM003) have always been extremely good.

MIS 2.4x (MKM001) have been extremely good to me except one batch about a year ago that was about at the same level as the MII.

MII have been good to be honest, but not as exceptional as the MIS ( I write at 4x or more BTW).
The PIF is usually a little higher with some peak at 3 (vs 2 for MIS) but all in all good. The TRT (transfer rate test) is clean for both.
Still much better, predictable and compatible to almost any setup of burner/pc/reader  than any other brand.

Since I love that techy stuff I always search to find MIS so I rarely use MII, and now that MKM003 are cheap (FShop in canada have quite often the 15 pck on sale for 20$ ) I will use only that  biggrin.gif

It is also important to note that with the Play from HD, all this takes less importance now. You can do the transfer using your original and use the BUp for the boot. very little is read from the disk itself!!!

You're right soso, it was a theory based on observation on my small sample size and the compatibility of my older burner with the discs.  I'm sorry.

At the time, it just seemed to me that singapore was putting out the high-end, small pack 8x discs and india was putting out lower-end, lower speed, big packs of discs.  It was a theory of observation based on packaging as well.

I've never tried anything other than verbs, I'll have to give the mitshubishis a shot if I can find some cheap.  Thanks soso!
