Weird Burning Scenario

What kind of burner do you have? How old is it/how much has it been used? It could just be worn out.
Only thing you can really do is upgrade the firmware on your burner. I know I couldn't even use my Toshiba-Samsung burner with Memorex DVD+R DL without a firmware upgrade, it would screw up the drive and my computer.
Also, I didn't even know you could burn stuff from a virtual machine. I'd install Windows natively with boot camp or whatever.

The burner I am using is a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E.  I guess you could say i have used it on an average basis.  I am not really sure where to find a firmware upgrade for this burner.  I have searched online, but have been unable to find such.  The burner works fine, with Verbatim discs if I burn anything but a 360 ISO.  For example, if I burn an ISO to use in my computer, it works fine. I thought maybe it was the laser in the 360 but that wouldn't make sense if it is picking up all my other backups.  And burning from a virtual machine works fine.  I have never had any problems with it.

Hi,
Ive had the very same problem, diskes burning perfectly and then nothing but coasters but only for xbox 360, all others burn and work fine. I think it could be somrthing to do with a Windows update. The reason I say this is because all was working well until I allowed windows to do a security update and the problems occured from there. Just a stab in the dark really but I am about to reload windows on my second computer and not let it update to see if that cures the problem.
Regards Marty

MATSHITA
since the begining that has to be the drive giving the most problem to the X360 laser

can you use an external usb drive (pioneer...)
