I ordered a pack of Verbatim DL 2.4x (20 pack) for 32 shipped (to Canada) guaranteed to be MIS.
So long as I don't get coasters and it prolongs the life of my backups/xbox 360 and makes more authentic backups compared to the originals, I don't midn spending the extra 50 cents per backup compared to Memorex.
Smart move. Not saying that you can't get backups that are decent with the other discs but you definitely have significantly more variables with results that can be all over the place (much more of a gamble). Can't tell you how many times we have seen it come up on this forum. (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Anyways, I have done a lot of media research over the last 5 years or so, and so I do tend to come off a bit snobbish and irritated when I see so many reviews claiming that Memorex is just as good as Verbatim, when they don't even bother posting things such as error rate scans, hardware configurations or comparisons with other people (let alone that they don't even have a clue about the fact that Ritek/Ricoh produce Memorex DL media or that MIS Verbatim is all produced by Mitsubishi Kagaku Media in Singapore). Just always remember that the media manufacturer is a much better indicator of what kind of quality to expect, rather than the brand name label (since some labels have multiple manufacturers with varying quality standards all under the same brand label and they can change them at the drop of a hat).
