I just choose the burning program through XBC as Nero.  I have Nero 7, because I think 8 is junk...but changing the book type is probably the same.  I just open up Nero Startsmart, then choose Nero Burning Rom, then go to Recorder...Choose Recorder...highlight your burner, then hit Options, then change it to DVD-ROM if its not already choosen.  Then when you burn, burn it as slowly as you can, normally 2.4x or 4x.

Hi, Well I only have a 30 day trial of Nero 8 that I got off there website and I was able to set booktype to dvd-rom with nero 8 but was not able to get the game to boot after it was burnt. But I will try nero 7 and see how that works thanks alot and have a nice night. Also I will try choosing nero 7 threw xbox back up creator.

You guys are better off getting ImgBurn. It's free and you can set the booktype if you wish (only on certain drives). But from what I heard you don't need to set the bookytpe anymore.

booktype isn't needed anymore
i am not sure with wich version it was invented but if you use atleast a iXtreme one booktype setting is done by Firmware


and about nero, i am not sure if it can do the layerbreak right, atleast last version i tried could'nt do it


go get imgburn (free) or CloneCD (wich smoothly can use the .dvd files)

Both IMGBurn and CloneCD can handle .dvd files. Since the former is free, I'd use this instead!

oh didn't know that imgburn has .dvd file support

I tried using my copy of Nero 8 to burn the games I had backed up and they would not play in my Xbox 360.  I wasted two DVD+R's before I came onto this forum, searched around and learned the error of my ways.  I bought a copy of CloneCD online and now every DVD+R I burn works perfectly in my Xbox 360.  Also, in CloneCD you do not need to adjust any settings; you just load the *.dvd file, click burn, wait 28 minutes and you are good to go!  

FYI, you will see a lot of members on here say burn @ 2.4x for Xbox 360, but I have been burning @ 4x in CloneCD and games work great.
