The burner I use is: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E

That's weird I've burnt games with my MATSHITA UJ 850S and they work but mind you I only burnt 2 games GTA4 and FIFA08. I bought another burner (in external case) since then. Have you tried CloneCD?

Your burner is about to shake a double seven. Replace it.

Where can I find a Pioneer 111D or 112D? Every online it says they are no longer being sold sad.gif

You don't need a 111D or 112D, get the 115D or 116D if you can find it.  They're both great burners from Pioneer.

How does the 115D compare to the 111D?
And is Pioneer DVR-115DBK the same thing as a 115D?

I think I'm ganna go ahead and buy this if it is that good at reading crappy memorex cd's, considering it's only 40 dollars.  If I get a external case it'll work on my macbook right?

Oh sweet, so I'll probably just go ahead and buy the cheapest.  I got a $24 gift card to circuitcity.com, but I can't find any cases? I only see the ones that are to hold cd's, not to enclose a DVD burner  laugh.gif

eBay is another place you can look if you are having troubles finding a case.

As long as it says that it's for a 5.25" drives you'll be fine. They are all about the same size, case wise.

So this case:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817716024

with this drive:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827129018

and all I do is plug it into my USB and it'll actually be able to burn on memorex?

The case and drive are good! Yep that's all you do. You can burn on anything basically.
