Hello.

I recent got my xbox360 with Samsung drive firmware flash.

I already had some TDK DVD+R DL blanks for I thought I give it a try using my PC Optiarc 7170A DVDRW.

I did make a perfectly working backup of a Burnout Paradise and it read and runs perfectly.

I've also tried to burn a Virtua Fighter 5.   Problem is when it is reading this game... way the disc spin in the xbox360 sounds little different.  I can hear slight scratchie? & game doesn't run. But I do not hear this noise with Burnout.  So I thought it was a problem with the disc.  So I burnt a another and same result.   So Now, I burnt a another copy of Burnout this time and runs perfectly without any noise.   What's going on here ?

So I don't know why but I took few small pieces of black electrical tape and put some on the VF5 disc that made noise & didn't run on xbox360.   because I put the tape on only one side it would not spin evenly in the console and would generate vibration...  I thought the disc was going to crack in there.   But here is the thing... game actually loads now and I can play it!
IF I take the tape off, it doesn't work again.

Is there something wrong with my XBOX360 DVDROM drive?  It can't be? because it doesn't make those scratchie/hiching' noise when I use original or this working Burnout Paradise disc.

Sure it could be the lower quality of my +DL disc but like I said... I ended up burning 3 copies of Burnout and all works perfect! and VF5 doesn't work even after I burnt 2 more.   I've wasted too much disc now.

Anyone got some answers?   Maybe I should tweak my DVDROM pot or something?  
Maybe I should try Verbatim disc first.
