I Just Cant Seem To Get A Backup To Work
« on: June 04, 2008, 08:10:00 PM »

im gonna list all the things ive done and then maybe someone here can identify why the hell the disc is coming up, everytime mind you, as "unreadable"

1. burnt my backup with clonecd, used a memorex DL disc
2. burnt my backup with imgburn, used a memorex DL disc
3. burnt my backup using imgburn, using verbatim 2.4x discs from newegg
4. burnt my backup using XBCr but had imgburn listed as the burning engine, using verbatim 2.4x discs from newegg.
5. burnt my backup using XBCr with XBCr being the burning engine, using verbatim 2.4x discs from newegg

im running out of ideas, and blanks, as to what is the cause for none of my backups being read. i have iXtreme 1.4 and always check to make sure stealth & splitvid is in place. something else to probably note...ive already tried verifying so that doesnt mean shit either

You got it.

If I may suggest one, if you want a really good burner, get a Pioneer 112D. You will never get a coaster when combined with Verbatim media and burned at 2.4x. I think the burner goes for like $30 brand new.

You REALLY want to invest in Verbatim media. Don't screw around with crappy media. There is a sticky somewhere about using crappy media vs good media.

I'm having similar problems:

I have tried burning Lego Indiana Jones about 12 times and everytime I put it into my 360 I get "unplayable Disc" on the console. This is what I've used to try and burn my game with:

1st: Xbox Backup Creator: It will make a complete burn when I put it in the system it will give me the "unplayable Disc" error.

2nd: I used Clonecd and I Just bought some brand new disc's and it gives me an error about the disc being bad. When it does burn all the way through it gives me an error "unplayable Disc".

3rd: I also used Image Burn and sometimes I get an error aboutsomething is wrong with the disc. Other times it will burn all the way through and it will still give "unplayable disc.

I'm using Verbatim disc's that I bought brand new. And I have a Pioneer DL dvd burner.

I've Burned copys of my games before and never had this kind of problem. I was able to get Incredible HULK to work finally with image burn.

All my other games I've burned still work fine. GTA 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, and The Borune Conspiracy, all work fine. It wasn't until I started to burn the newest games Like Lego Indiana Jones, and HULK that I started having problems.

Any help would be Appriciated. I've never burned this many coasters before.

I have a couple of more questions

I have more than 1 Hard drive in my computer could that be the problem?
The game is in 1 drive while the program I'm running is in another.

Also with image burn do you need to remove the layer break line in the .iso folder before burning?
