First let me say this site (and others like it) has been a huge asset.
I have modded an arcade xbox to xfirm 1.41 and have backed up all my games before they get too messed up.
I am currently using the hotswap method and finding SS files.

Anyways - I have just acquired a 3ROD box with a TS-H943a FW-ms28 drive.

I want to have it hooked up to my pc to allow for a better backup procedure.

I understand the xtreme0800 5.3 is needed for this.

Some questions I have:

- when I flash the TS-H943 with the 0800 firmware and rip a game, will it then be able to be ripped to a DL-DVD and be used with the iXtreme 1.41 on my 1st box. Is this assumption correct? or is there somehow a 0800 firmware stamp on the dump?

and

- Can the 360 drive power be run from the pc in anyway. I have not seen a thread on this anywhere.
Or do I need to have the 3rod case constantly hooked up to my pc?

(I know i should prob just get a kreon, but I have this thing so I might as well make a project out of it.)
