Help A Beginner?
« on: April 29, 2008, 03:18:00 PM »

Hi,

I've purchased the new GTA game today on Xbox 360, and I want to make a back up copy of it so I can play it on my other Xbox 360. It does have a mod chip.

I'm just not sure where to start.

If I can help it, I don't want to disassemble my 360 to flash the drive, can I do it on my PC?

Many thanks.

Easiest way is read the faq's all the info is in there and well laid out, I'd recommend buying a Kreon samsung drive as you wont have to keep ripping your 360 apart to rip the original other than that a good DL burner is a must.

quite frankly, using 2 copies of the game at once (an original and backup) is still considered illegal. only one may be used at a time. if you want to use both at the same time, then you will have to buy another licence to do so ie. buy another copy of the game.

if your not using them at the same time, then i dont see the point of going through all that trouble to backup the game for the reason you specified

^^ He wasn't asking for legal advice and im sure could really care less after he has bought a legal copy of the game.

anyway yeah read the guides but the Kreon samsung drive that have been flashed already are the best way to go.  There are a few members here that sell them preflashed and ready to rip 360 games for about $40-50.  You said the 360 already has a modchip so it should be ready to read backups on dvd+r DL.

Good luck with everything and im a new 360 guy as well so your not alone and it can be bit confusing.

he may not of been asking for it, but we here at xbox-scene, have a zero tolerance towards piracy and any other illegal activities

I understand all that but he said that he owns the game itself so I figured piracy would not apply in this case.  Even if you should techniqually buy 2 copys of the game, you still have to be realistic and just say owning the one is good enough.  Im sure he will only play one legal version of the game at a time anyway  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

but if both machines are playing the game at the same time expect a knock at the door from m$  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

just because he owns the orignal (which he should have to make a backup anyway) is no justification of anything. you still cannot download the same game from the internet or anything else as the licence you paid for is for your copy only, not someone elses. and thats the same in this case, he only has purchased one licence, so he can only use the one disc at a time, even if one of them is a backup of the licenced disk
