And how do I change the read speed on my xbox? Do I have to reflash it? That would be lame.

Yup, the BenQ and Samsung can be reflashed; the Hitach I think is stuck at 12x, but I could be wrong.

I burned mine at 2.4x on a Sony DRU-840A on a Sony DVD+R DL.  My drive is a Benq flashed with an 8x non-stealthed C4E iXtreme 1.41 right now, I had some issues at 12x, none of my backups would work, I will be flashing it to a stealthed 8x later tonight.

The game loads pretty good, I see textures popping in and thats it.

Just an observation:  the texture pop-in is reported to be a normal occurance -

taken from www.kotaku.com

http://kotaku.com/38...nd-360-versions

Pop-In & Loading
With a huge, seamless streaming world, data must be constantly read from the disc. The PS3 version, with its required HDD install, loads missions a couple seconds faster and decreases pop-in. The Xbox 360 version can suffer from some very noticeable texture loading, as things like trees, vehicles and building signs will regularly pop-in as one tools about town. It can be distracting, especially during high speed chases, and the PS3 version isn't entirely immune from it, but it's not a game killing problem.

It is normal, but some people experience so much that you smash into something invisible.  That's not normal and is probably caused by lower reflective nature of the burned disc.

Exactly, Iam smashing in to invisible walls, and believe, its more that frustrating.
Can I make an image from a ripped game using non-kreon drive?
Also, would other media help? Like a guy told me i should use TDK DVD's, coz he had the same problem but now fixed it.

do not ask how to make a backup of a backup. you should have the original so use that.

silentgold3 - the problem here is that an orignal may work with absolutly no problems, while a backup will produce slow loading textures and pop-ups

not too sure what you mean by LEGIT backup. lol.

i mean, there is no such thing as a non-legit backup unless its an illegal one that you dont own the original to.

anyways, just wanted to add that i have been playing for a good 4 or 5 hours and have not had ANY problems whatsoever (knock on wood!)

i have  hitachi 47dj with ixtreme 1.4

Sounds like there is a non-legit backup as you just described it smile.gif.  But yea should be fine since your not running the benq drive. Also on another note since I didn't clarify it before was that this happens on both the backup and original copy.

When I first brought up the issue with my buddy I kept asking him if he was experiencing the same thing, and would always so no. I just thought maybe he didn't see it and was over looking it somehow or I was just really nitpicking which I tend todo lol. But once I played my original on his system it hits me WHAM my system is having some major issues. This wasn't just a occasional popup, this was major pop up. I think people are confusing minor popup you get in any open world game and this major issue some of us are seeing. It gets as bad as the roads surface not loading its 3D model and the car looks like it floating. We also tested his hardrive unplugged and still couldn't not replicate the issue.

I would almost place a bet its the benq drive, since the gpu and cpu and board are all technically the same across the board.

Has anyone tried flashing thier firmware with something lower then 12X..

P.S. my system is a new falcon with benq drive with iextreme 1.41

Well guys I re-flashed my drive to 8x speed and no effect on the pop-up. I guess I might just have to swap in a samsung ms25 drive sad.gif

I have a Benq flashed at 5x and it doesn't do the severe pop-up like you're talking about. I've played GTA for probably 5 or 6 hours and the low rez thing as only happened 1 time when I drove into some grass, the grass looked crappy then the hi-rez showed up like 2 seconds later.  It's never done it with the roads or buildings.

I haven't made a backup yet but I tryed what you said w/ the original and mine is not doing any of what you are talking about.  I spawned a Turismo which is a really fast car and flew down the road, slam on the brakes, nothing is screwed up.  I've played it alot and everything is good.  Don't know why yours is doing that.  I'd notice if the road and buildings were screwing up.

Exactly all these people complaining about what their back ups do but not one of them has commented how the original disc that they made the back up from behaves. This thread is an inch from being shut down

yes well i can confirm the issues are still the same on orig disc(running on a benq drive) seems to be a ram overload problem from what ive been told and maybe a patch will be released that limits the amount of ram it uses (seems some ps3 users are suffering same probs and there using the orig disc of course!
a little look on google confirms the probs most ppl are having seems the makers will need to address this asap!

yes I am aware of issues with the game. The point I am making is none of these posters with alleged backups have said if the behaviour is identical on their originals to their backups. If it is then the whole change the media of the backup is irrelevant.

I'm running a samsung ms25 with ixtreme 1.4 12x, both my original and verbatim backup run just fine. Now again I get some popup but it's nothin major. I also have a hard drive.

The next time a customer brings me a Benq I'll test both my discs and let you know the outcome. It does sound like some Benq drives may be having problems with the game.
