I have another problem. I burned the game on to Verbatim on 2.4 speed. But it seems that the console cant read data from the DVD fast enough coz I often have washed out textures AND low poly models while driving fast. Only after 1-10 sec everything loads up correctly. I have a BenQ drive. Another guy told me that I shud use TDK DVDs coz he had same problems and now its fixed. But TDK exists no more and there is no DVD+R DL to buy in stores in Germany. Shud I try another brand like Intenso and what not? Plz help.

Mine plays ok on Verb discs burnt at 2.4. I also have a BenQ drive. What firmware have you used? and have you used max speed read?

mine is 8x and it seems to work fine.

these problems are most likely media quality errors. burnt media is nowhere near as good of quality as pressed media no matter what brand you use. the only thing i can suggest you to try is clean your laser, and try lowering the speed of your drive to 8x or 5x if 8x doesnt improve it.

yes, lower speeds will decrease read times. but as the game uses alot of disc activity with the laser going back and forth all the time, (heres my theory) the laser may be receiving errors as its reading a sector, and comes round again to read it untill it fully reads the sector which causes the texture to take a while to load. by lowering the drives speed, you will increase the lasers accuracy with its reading which means it may not have to come round for a second or third read of each sector, and will cause the textures to load sooner. that is if my theory is correct.

Ive got the same problem, loading from my backup doesnt seem to be quite fast enough to keep up with the game. When driving fast I often find myself on non existent roads or Ill hit invisible shit that wont show up until a few seconds later lol. Oh well, guess Ill just stick with the original which doesnt have this problem, I was kinda disappointed with the game until I tried the original. Ive never had a problem with any game before until this.

Backed up using a kreon drive with XBC 2.8. Backed up at 1x (man that took forever, didnt realize it was set so low but said screw it and let it run) and burned at 2.4x using my pioneer 111 and imageburn.
Backed up to Singapore VB's .
New benq with 12x fw

I didn't have any trouble ripping the game...  Going to burn it soon, just moving it over to my flash drive so I can burn it on my PC w/the Pioneer.

so does my post get ignored or what?

i have successfully backed up that game and had it running with only slight pop-ups (hardly noticable, and no frame drops) o my benq 5x iXtreme 1.41. done using a kreon drive with XBC and MIS 2.4x Verbs burned at 4x. ill be trying 8x today to see if i can get rid of the pop-ups, just have to find that sweet spot.

i was just wondering if anyone had any perfect burns, without popups or anything like that. what do you think the suggested burn speed should be? i usually burn at 2.4x. is that good enough?

the slower the burn, the better it is so try to set it at the lowest speed. i know i have no issues with 4x burning so thats why i do it

o ok cool. so im guessing the burning will go fine, so even if it doesnt play correctly, i wont have wasted a verbatim disc. it simply lies in the firmware speed i guess.  ill try it on my 12x, and if it doesnt work, ill go to 8. i would gladly give up loading speed to ensure that GTA play good! lol

Burned it last night at 4x on my Pioneer 212D on 2.4x MIS Verbatims.  No prob with pop ups that I saw yet, but I haven't played much...

It was ripped using an SH-D163B flashed with Kreon 1.00.  In terms of my 360's drive, it's a BenQ running iXtreme 1.4.1, but not sure of the speed since I got it flashed at a place and didn't do it myself.
