Hi,

I'm new to backing up games, and I've implemented the hotswap method from the H**king the Xbox 360 for Noobs .pdf guide. I've followed the textbook with every procedure, failed, followed up with variations on technique (from forums), still failed, and having found no other alternative, I make this post. A picture is worth a thousand words, and here it is:

Except for when 'D' dummied,  I always get that first CRC error at 2048.

If you can guess it, I think I've tried it. I use an old western DVD movie @7.74gb. I've tried extracting the 'magic' number from both the movie and 360 game. I've dummied the first three sectors, third sector, no sectors, and all sectors, even one/two at a time. I gots nothin' (shrug).

Mind you, this is my first backup, and I may be overlooking some important process function that keeps me from a complete backup. Please help!

Ps.: Since this is a problem specific to me, it'd be unfair to crowd the forum with back and forth simply for me - feel free to e-mail me if there's a great deal I'm missing. In fact, I'd prefer if this was fixed by contact through e-mail.
