Are Verb 8x's The Only Reliable Discs To Get?

As of right now it seems Verb 8x's are the ONLY reliable discs from what im reading, is that correct??? man that really limits you.  It seems Neweggs 15pack for $31 shipped is the cheapest buy.

I've been using 2.4x's (though says on the package works up to 8x speed).  They had a sale a few weeks ago at Best Buy, was $30 for a 20 pack.
They're $38 for a 20 pack shipped at Amazon.com.
Try to stock up when they're on sale, as they dont come up often.  Good luck and happy backing up!
