Backup Results In Bad Ss.bin Every Time, Why?
« on: January 02, 2008, 05:07:00 AM »

Hi Guys

I'm currently trying to make a backup of an original madden nfl 08 using a kreon sh-163b but seem to be running into problems with the ss.bin.

I use xbcr2.7 and it rips the game fine, but when I check the ss.bin with kreonchecker is comes up as a bad rip (image passes stealth checks) I ran the backup process again and once again it failed kreonchecker. When I checked the SS on the original (off the disc not the image) it says the ss.bin is fine.

I then gave schtrom a go and it fails at 3% saying it couldn't extract the ss.bin

Now I know kreonchecker is obsolete now because of ixtreme1.4 but I'd really like to know why I can't rip this game properly. Call me paranoid but I'd still rather not put a backup in my system that fails kreon.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your input. I did understand that the kreonchecker was all about >359 jitter this was just the first game I had come across that gave me the error. I knew I was safe with 1.4 but was more interested as to why this 1 certain game produced this error which eventually went. You touched on this when you mentioned the newer games are more likely to produce this jitter.

Can you briefly explain why schtrom would not let me rip past 3% because of the SS error?

So once the image is ripped is a simple stealth check with xbcr enough to be "safe"?

Also does anybody bother stealth checking the discs again once burnt from the image or is it a given that if the image is safe the disc is?

thanks in advance.
