Does It Matter What Burner

i look around and couldn't find an answer so this might be a stupid question. i just got a Samsung - 20x External Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive. Will in burn my back-ups? want to know just in case i need to ruturn it.. thanks

have been reading a lot to figure out my question but still dont't have an answer. i have a an old dl dvd burner that doesnt burn my backups. and for christmas i got a new Samsung - 20x External Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive. before i open it i want to know if this external drive will burn the dvd correctly. or is it a trial thing? thanks again

Provided you have quality media (8x official rated DL Verbatim DVD+R) and the latest firmware on your 360 drive then yes you will be in good shape with pretty much any burner.  The Pioneer models do make things a little bit easier though (ie setting booktype right out of the box).
