So the Verbatims made in Singapore are good? Theres a crapload of them at my local best buy, all made in Singapore...

Yup.  Some locations still have stock of the 2.4x official MIS DL Verbatims but you won't find them many places anymore and it definitely would not be a wise move to pick them up online.  If you can still find them locally like that though, then buy them as soon as there is a decent sale.

Thats not true, I bought Vertbatim 8x dual layers off newegg, they were made in India, and about %30 were coasters.  Iv'e used a ton of singpore 2.4 verbatims, not one coaster.

I just bought a 20 pack of 2.4 Verbatims off eBay...I guess that means they were made in India?  I used Clone CD to make the copy...did a successful burn, but I haven't tested it yet, since my modded 360 is being repaired...how and when do you know that they are coasters?

Everyone that is having the issues with the Made in India discs, are you all trying to burn at speeds faster than 2.4X?

Like I said before, 2.4X has worked fine with me for Made in India discs for all the disks.

Look at the spindle next to the UPC symbol and it will tell you the country of origin.

Of course and like any other cheap quality DL media the results are mixed and are dependent on a number of factors for success (ie your burner/firmware revision, your 360 DVD-ROM drive/firmware revision).  Hence the reason why you only see the MIS Verbatim recommended.  For more info read the first link in my signature.

I have the 2.4X verbatims from newegg - I have yet to have an unsuccessful backup and I forget to set the speed to 2X a couple of times and the disk burned at 6X.  This is on a nec 3550a with the 1.y6 firmware.  DVD in 360 is the benq

burned 40 Verbatims made in Singapore!

first 5 disc i burned was wasted!

(Burners laser hit the disc of some reason..think it was because of bad Iso of bacup)

Bacup new,and it work!

but i have got "write error on sector xxx..." on 4-5 disc!  1 wasted disc on another burner,so dont think its the dvd-rw!

Another problem at 1 disc is i have is:   writed complete bacup, played game fine 1-2 days!

 then in xbox : DiscReadError...

Insert the damaged disc in samsung pc drive, and try bacup iso! After 80Mb speed slow down to 0.1x and got read error, and cant  recover it!  but when i try bacup the bad disc today it read fine in XBC?

Dont think i buy another Verbatims made in Singapore anymore!

Disc made in Us/Eu i buyed, dont have 1 wasted disc  pop.gif
