alternatives? well short answer, no.
Long answer, I use both of these programs just fine (well, vista...sheesh) and ofcourse they work. Also they are made by two separate people, and since you are getting the exact same problem (stuck at 91%) I would start to suspect somthing else.

Make sure to set the options in Schtrom360 and in XBC for your specific model of drive. Also, set the speed to 6x in both as well and you shouldn't get the stopping at 91%. The 6X thing only seems to effect certain games but at that speed it seems to work every time for me.

Are you on Vista ?

It may seems stupid, but both programs give me errors under Vista Ultimate 32. Switched to WinXp and now both are running perfectly !!!

Can you be more specific about your setup? DVD-ROM Drive Model & firmware for example...

oh ya i have the Samsung SH-D162C Kroen Flashed w/ 1.0 Dvd Rom Drive

i insert a disk and 3 percent in says cant extract ss.bin y is that?

Update your version of schtrom360 to 3.4 and try that. Also try using XBC 2.7...

thanks 2.7 also gives me errors stops at 90 ish is my drive a bad flash? thanks again..giving 3.4 a try
