Nec 3520aw Using Latest Firmware, 5 From 6 Failures
« on: December 14, 2007, 10:19:00 AM »

I have just recently got my son's xbox chipped/flashed and using Fortis DL disc's and an NEC 3520AW burner using the latest firmware Liggys v3.07 I have burned 6 disc's with 5 failures.

I burnt the first disc using Imgburn and it failed. I burnt the second using Clone and it was a success. Today I burnt one and it failed using clone, I then tried again using Imgburn, that failed. I then checked the firmware and made sure it was up to date. Read several guides to burning with clone and imgburn then tried another one using clone and it failed.

Out of 6 disc's I have only had one success. What am I doing wrong?? I am burning at 2.4x and doing everything as per the guides. Is it my burner or is it the disc's??

I'm thinking of changing my drive and just getting a Pioneer 112. But before I do can someone tell me what the difference is between the 112 and 112d?

It's driving me mad. I was disappointed after the first fail then elated when I had a success at my second attempt, right now I'm really pi**ed off.

Should I change my drive or try again?

Fortis either use Ritek (pretty torable) or CMC (hardly work on anything) So it sounds like you got the CMC dye on your disks . The CMC disks work fine using my Pioneer 112D burning at 2.4x but hate my Sony 7170A
