Philips Dvdr1628p1 Trouble Buring 360 Backups.
« on: November 08, 2007, 05:30:00 PM »

Hey there, i've tried following loads of guides on here. But I'm fed up making coasters out of my expensive verbatim's!

I think it's something to do with the booktype. How do I go about changing it for my dvd drive?

Also, if you have this drive, or a similar model, how do you burn your backups?

Cheers,
Eddie.

most of the recent firmware do no require you set booktype, but it does not hurt.

How have you done the backups?
software?
Drive/fw?

By firmware do you mean 360 Firmware or the DVD Writer Firmware?

I used imgburn and i'm not sure of the drive and the FW on the xbox because a friend flashed it for me.

cheers!

you do not need booktype any more with recent fw on you X360 drive

as far as the 1628 is concerned, it is a benq 1640 rebranded as a Philips. (great burner by the way).

If you still want to change the book type,
open imgburn,
be sure your burner is select in 'destination" and put in a disk of the type you want to set (+R DL),
go in Tools/Drive/Change Book Type/'Your burner Brand'
select 'change For:' to a 'DVD +R DL MEDIA' and in 'New Setting' choose DVD-ROM + hit Change
