Halo3 Iso Size
« on: November 06, 2007, 09:42:00 AM »

I've ripped a ton of games with no problems at all using XBC, all ISOs end up being 7,395,393KB in size.  I've been trying to back up Halo 3 and always end up with an ISO size of 7,651,848 KB which is too big to burn.  What am I doing wrong?

Xbox Backup Creator and a SH-D163C flashed with Kreon, which has worked fine for every other game I've attempted to backup (many).

agreed, are you using version 2.6 of XBC? if so it is all normal.

Version 2.6.0.260

A) why is the Halo3 ISO a different size than every other ISO I've ripped?
cool.gif the resulting ISO is too large to fit on a DVD-R DL

The combo of A&B lead me to think something is wrong with what I'm doing...

halo 3 as nothing to do with it (other game would be the same). Again, the difference is between xbc 2.5 and 2.6 that now adds the splitvid to the file, and it should burns just fine using the BXC burning engine or imgburn (called by XBC as per Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn )
The file size is OK for a XBC 2.6 extraction.

If you truly do not want it, go in options and remove the splitvid option and you will get it in the format you had before.

The resulting ISO is too large to burn is the issue at hand.  Also, all other ISOs that I've made are the same size, only Halo3 is larger, so something is up...

just ripped H3 using xbc2.6, burn @6x and it is working nicely

unfortunately cannot paste a prtscreen at the moment, BUT the size is 7,651,848 KB!!!
Size is therefore not the issue. start listening and try to track the real issue if you want to solve your problem.

the other game you made were most probably pre-splitvid, so it is normal.

also you mention dvd-r DL, not sure if is is a typo, but it should be DVD+R DL

Again, if you are not happy with the splitvid size, Go in options tab of XBC and remove the "Build Splitvid ISO" options, RERIP and you will get the good old 7,395,392KB filesize allowing to go on...

good luck
