These "which media is best" threads are getting old. They are no where near as bad as when the first 360 drives were flashed, but for some reason they still keep popping up (and old ones like this get resurrected).
Some important things to keep in mind that WILL affect the quality of the discs and their readability....
1: All 360 drives are different, even if you are comparing a benq to a benq. Their will always be minor differences (tolerance levels) in each one so each drive will act differently.
2: Same goes for burners and the drives that you use to rip with.
3: Slowest burning speed is not always best. Check the rated burn speed of the media. If it says 2x-8x speed, then burn within those speeds. Trying to burn at speeds other then what it is rated for (1x or 1.5x for example) is only asking for trouble. Cases of this have been posted here before.
4: No media is best. Why? Because of the differences in the reading drives and burning drives also play a factor in the final product. Case in point, people have posted using bargin-barn no-name brands and having flawless success but with "the good media" they get coasters. Your hardware (the burner and the reader) WILL be the deciding factor on which is "best" for your setup.
Knowing all of this will lead to only one conclusion, and that is to experiment. If your setup works with "cheap" media, then run with it. If your current media (may it be verbs, memorex, or office depot brand) are not working, then try a different brand.
Nobody has the "exact" setup as someone else, so the most you can do is use what they posted as a general guideline on where to start to help cut down any un-needed costs.
And for those that post "I got brand x to work" doesn't help much. What software did you use? what was the reading drive? What was the burning drive? What drive is in the 360? What FW is flashed to the 360? These are all factors that play a roll in the final product.
