Any Opinions On Lg Dvd-ram Gsa-h10a Jl02 Burner
« on: October 31, 2007, 05:23:00 PM »

Hi,

I am expecting my new flashed elite x-box 360 next week. The seller of the xbox has recomended to buy also the Pioneer DVR-111D burner for writing disks along with the Samsung SH-D162C DVD-Rom for making images as the "perfect solution" for making copies of the original disks.
I would like to mention that adding two more DVD-ROM in my PC is not an easy task because my motheboard has only one IDE slot already occupied with a HD and a LG DVD-RAM GSA-H10A JL02 burner.
After searching the forum I have made the conclusion that the LG burner could actually work to make backups, at least there are some posibilities that might work.
My question is should I order the two DVD-ROM or should at first give a change to my LG burner, of cource the answer of the seller was to order the drives as well, but the seller first of all he wants to sell.
Thank you

The only LG drive I've used is the GSA H55N, and it works perfectly. The only way you're going to find out if your drive works for sure is trying to make a backup.

Media Manufacturer (again.. imgburn)?
360 Drive / Firmware?

Firmware: version 1.01
Media: CMC Magnetics (HP)
I've got a TS drive but dont know the firmware, I got somebody else to flash it for me. Although I can tell it was flashed before the banning on live, so it still has the old xtreme firmware.

Fifa works perfectly.

What issues are you having?

Getting unrecognised disc errors sad.gif.. I will try downgrading my firmware to 1.01 and burning.. see if that helps. I have a feeling it could be my Hitachi drive that's the issue!

Mm.. changing the burner firmware didn't do any good either, so I'm going to assume its my Hitachi drive.. Looks like I'll be opening up the 360 and upgrading the firmware!

FYI all,

The burns worked fine, my 360 needed its firmware upgrading. Now I've done that all of the burns are good!
