for quite a while now i've been using verbatim printable dvds for my backups, labelling them only with a pencil. i was about to get the canon PIXMA iP4300 to print the labels on the dvds when i discovered pretty nice lightscribe covers on the web.

these just look so, well, real. and i like that.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

if you use one of the above two methods, why do you and what are the downsides of it?

i kinda can't decide ...

thanks.

Good luck finding quality lightscribe DL discs.  If you do find any they would be horribly expensive.  Stick with IJ Printables.  Cheaper and easier to find.

Get the Canon, it has awesome quality and good software IMHO.
I bought it and it was a very good purchase although I just need it for disk labeling.

Besides Lightscript isn't colour is it?

Downside: needs ink but as far as I can tell not much.
Upside: looks really sweet, printer is cheap

Truth be told I don't know if they even exist.

Uh yeah, the stick-on labels are bad news over time.

For me, it's just your average disc and a non erasable felt tip marker. Lame, I know. Why bother printing on discs if only the game is what matters?
