Hey, my sh-d162c was working all right two days ago. The only difference since, is I changed my ide to usb adapter to a newer model. I know what you are going to say, just use the new one but I blew my old adapter when I plugged the ground and positive in the wrong way. Basically there was smoke coming out of it---no good. My drive was not plugged in at the time either thank g-d. Basically I went from
this to
this.
There isn't really a difference between the two with an exception of a sata connector on the one I have now. What happens is when I boot up xbox backup creator, my drive is selected, I insert the disk, then nothing happens. Not activity, sometimes the disk even stops spinning. While before it read there was media and gave me the option to read my game to make a back up. I've already tried playing with the jumper and it does not seem to matter whether the drive is set as master, slave, etc... I am at a lose here is it the usb adapter I'm using or is my drive faulty? Any help would be appreciated.
PS The usb drive read my drive succesfully as a sh-d162c and it shows up as that in xbox backup creator. The only problem is getting XBC to read my game.
