Little Help With First Backup
« on: June 19, 2007, 11:18:00 PM »

hey guys, I'm trying to make my first backup of a game and I have some questions.  I play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and I recently put a big scratch on the disk.  Fortunately it is still readable and playable by my xbox360, but I wonder how long that will last and I don't want to chalk up another $60 for it.

I found a tutorial here on this site which I'm planning on using (http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=588763) but I have a few questions.

I've read a few things about some kind of xtreme firmware.  Do I need to do anything to my xbox to make the game playable?  I'm planning on just extracting the game and burning it to a disk that isn't damaged as that above tutorial instructs.  Will that work?

Also, I've seen some "xtreme rips" posted around the web, and a tutorial about using them here (url Removed by soso, nice recipe to piracy!!!).  I found a PAL xtreme rip (even though I'm NTSC) and I guess if my efforts are a total failure I'd think about trying this as opposed to re-buying the game, but I was wondering if somebody could explain the ...

Thanks a lot.
