Xmbc 3-9-04 Build Won't Run From Dvd

I just took my working build of XBMC 3/9/04 from a hard disk install matrix modded xbox and burned it to DVD.  I inserted the dvd, with MXM, into another xbox (x-bit) modded and tried to load XBMC with no luck.  It completely halts.  No ouput at all.
I did notice on my hard disk install that it creates a log file of the startup sequence.  Is there a way to turn this off?  Is this potentially causing the failure of xbmc since it clearly cannot write to the DVD...

Other items on the same DVD work just fine so I know the disk is good and the xbox is good.

Any suggestions?  <
