Dvd-r For Xbox Backups

are you talking of xbox 1 backup to be used on x360?

first it is only with a samsung ms25/ms28 (not hitachi), and and in that case they work.
some people have more success with +r, some with -R. you need to try.

believe that is the Lightscribe HP drive?? not sure with HP firmware how to bitset. Note that it is not needed for x360 with the latest firmware.
Note that your drive is in fact a rebadge Benq 1625, and if you can cross flash it to a benq, then you can use benq utility to change the bitset (not that it matters for X360). more info at cdfreaks.com on cross flashing your drive if you still want bitset.

Hi,

Searched but can't find anything. I know you cant use dvd-r dl for xbox 360 backups just wondering if you can use dvd-r for xbox backups?

Also, I have a Hp Dvd Writer 640c and TSST TS-H652 and can't find any information about bitsetting these. Anyone managed to do it?

Many Thanks

I had a 640c (died after I burned my first few backups though). It does require bitsetting and can be done via DVDInfoPro.

If you have a Samsung drive with 5.x FW you can play single layer XBOX 1 backups, which will work with DVD-R's.

EDIT: You won't be able to play the single layer XBOX 1 backups (since you have a Hitachi), so you'll have to make them DL (same method as you make your 360 backups for the most part). And yes they will require bisetting since they will be DL.

I've got dvdinfopro not too familiar with it though. Any tutorials on bitsetting through it or is it simple?

Cheers
