How To Inject Ss?
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:31:00 PM »

I'm trying to create a backup of my game, and I can't figure out how to merge(inject ) SS into the iso that I ripped of my original using Wxripper. Hmmm? Do I use something called xtract360gui?? Thanks.

Actually, I know how to inject SS....the question I really want to have answered is how do I get the SS from the original game? I know that I need to use SSmerger 1.7. But what to inject in the field where the SSmerger program asks for SS file? And how do I get it?

sorry I was on sleepy when I asked the question before?

It's a Hitachi 46DJ. I used my computer's dvdrom drive to rip the iso using WxRipper 1.2. I tried using a dual layer dvd ,'Hurricane' (Denzel Washington),to do the hotswap but then it said hotswap disc is not large enough. Then I put in the Nutty Professor II: The Klumps and I got the magic number. I forgot to close out WxRipper and restart it(that's what I do after every unsucessful attempt to find right sized dvd) before I put in the Nutty Professor, so I don't know if it was actually Hurricane that was able to give me magic number or the Nutty Professor.  Yes, I know i stated previouslyy that I got an "Hot Swap DVD is not large enough" message, but I'm thinking that the WxRipper program was erroneously reporting that Hurricane was too small.  Strange thing did occur though, the box that states what dvdrom you have followed by the title of the dvd youre trying to fake the TOC with, showed that it was indeed Hurricane. But, like I mentioned before I didn't close out WxRipper after the error message saying that Hurricane is too small. So,was it really Nutty Professor that I got the magic number with. It can't be because that movie is way shorter than Hurricane so the size had to be smaller. Whatever, by the time I was just so happy that I could retrieve a magic number than I just started the dump of the game. You see I tried 10 dvd's before hand and all unsuccessful. I didn't have a copy of HITCH. I even tried Gladiator.

The Answer to your question which you primarily had a bit of trouble with was that you extracted the SS.bin file directly from the original game by attaching the hitachi 46D drive (booted to Mode B ) to a SATA port on your computer. You then booted your computer and made sure it could read the hitachi 46D. Then you opened XBOX Backup Creator and extracted the SS.bin file using the "Drive Tools" tab. While you were there, you probably just got the DMI.bin and the PFI.bin files, too. After that, you must have opened XBOX 360 SSMerger 1.7b and selected your dumped ISO (approximately 7.05 GB), your 2KB SS, DMI, PFI.bin files and hit the GIANT merge button on the right. This then resulted in a file about 7.17 GB in size and a .dvd file.

Am I close?
