My Wxripper Thread..
« on: March 29, 2007, 03:21:00 PM »

I did a site search for it and couldn't find it. I guess it got deleted, but I don't know why?

It's in the ISO building section and I just wanted to know what movies work with the swap method besides Gladiator. I've tried Underworld: Evolution, Braveheart, Castaway and The Da Vinci Code. All give me an error that the swap disc was too small.

If this post is against the rules, I'd appreciate a PM or something let me know -- or if it gets moved, I'd also appreciate a PM to where.

Thanks.

It works for me with any disk above 7.5GB.

It may be something else causing the problem, I remember seeint a post like this in the past. not using it on vista?

Yeah. I am on WinXP Home SP2.

The highest disc I have is UW:Evolution and Da Vinci Code. Both are 7.95, but I get an error.

Don't know anyone with Gladiator :|

Anyway I can make my own disc and would that work? If there's a way, I'd appreciate a link to a tutorial. thanks.

pretty sure you have another problem,
7.95GB is more than enough.

Ok...

I am getting the "Error : hotswap DVD is too small" error. I was using Underworld Evolution (7.95GB), so I decided to make a new disc. I added stuff and it said it was over 8GB, but came out to be 7.95GB anyway.

Well, I still get the error. The only thing I am doing differently it seems is not taking my drive apart. I am using the emergency port and it seems to keep reading the disc (after i eject it with emergency port, i can still see the disc under my computer with the name label)

Anyway, here is what I do:

- put in my dvd
- wait for windows to recognize it
- press stop on wxripper
- press find magic number (finds the number)
- then i emergency port it
- put my 360 game in
- spin drive
- magic number ("Error : hotswap DVD is too small")

Any help is appreciated.

Look at the pinned!!! for "Metaphaze's Guide ...(using wxripper)"

what drive are you using for your wxripper? only pioneer seems to do well for emergency hole trick.

many things do not seem in the right order, sure you are getting dvd too small, you are checking the magic number on the game!!!

should be
- put in my dvd
- wait for windows to recognize it
- press find magic number (finds the number)
- press stop on wxripper
- then i emergency port it
- put my 360 game in
- spin drive
- Start dump

You may have to edit the layout file as per the the guide

good luck

I have a Samsung drive. I guess I'll take it apart tonight and see if it works.

I followed your steps, sosotiit, but the guide by textbook says I have to find magic number when I put my 360 game in.

and when I do that, I get the swap dvd too small error.

(EDIT: I am using Textbook's PDF guide on 360mods.net; if that's wrong, please let me know)

You are sure you want to keep your burner disassemble like that, if it is really what you want, no prob  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

Just feel that with the solution available today (like a shd162c,  tempted??) , it is a lot of pain to keep your burner open, and  have to open your x360 to get the SS...

that said if you want that, I will be happy to help to the best I can. Let me know how it goes with your 182L opened.

Well I don't want to go through opening everything and doing that, but I don't really have a choice now. I've spent over $450+ in the last few days getting my 360, discs, ect.

If there was a cheaper alternative (buying a drive that could read the 360 game) then I would consider that, but I'd have to be pretty cheap or if someone would take trades (oblivion and/or Prey anyyone? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))

exactly my point, you may damage something and in the end it will be as expensive.
the Pc drive to extract games like shd162c (IDEand the 163 is SATA)  are usually around 50$ (I had mine for even less). check the   Xbox360 BST , everyone that got it will say it is a great buy.

wxripper is a lot of trouble, was great a year ago, but there is better now.

SH-D162C

That's an IDE drive, right? I don't have SATA ports, so I want to make sure I can get one I can use.

Also, thanks for the help Sosotiit. Really appreciate it.
