Most burner have permanent bitsetting and the booktype is memorized in the drive itself so you could use any software to burn with a DVD-ROM booktype. Unfortunately, it seems
some samsung do not have permanent bitsetting so you must use a software like imgburn 2.2 (not 2.1) that does bitsetting by software everytime they do a burn (or you have to set the booktype to DVD-ROM before every burn).
Not 100 % sure if this one in particular is one of those not having permanent bitset, and it may have changed with the latest firmware!
Use imgburn 2.2 (
Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn ) and select the
Auto Change Book Type in Tools/Settings/Write.
also look at the pinned: with
the latest Fw the booktype is a lot less important for both hitachi and samsung.
