Bitsetting On Mac Osx

Moving to the proper forum... You can't use toast to burn backups in os x; you need to use iBurn 360.. Check out this thread here:

http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=559408

You can get iBurn 360 here: http://idog.appleguru.org/

Unfortunatley if you have the latest os x (10.4.9) you may run in to trouble; there's a bug that this latest os upgrade introduced.. we're working on it. If you have 10.4.8 or earlier you'll be fine.

As for flashing your firmware, you can use DVR Flash...

Unfortuntely I am running 10.4.9, what is the bug that exists for it? And is there any way to downgrade?

I have boot camp installed, burning it with nero might be the easier/better option?

It has to do with growisofs, the cli program we're using for burning... We're not sure specifically what's causing it at the moment, but it showed up after the 10.4.9 update.

In any case, if you'll be using windows, you can burn with img burn.. or with xbox backup creator.

And if I use windows (sorry for all the questions!) do I need to flash my dvd burner? I have a pioneer DVR-111D. If I do need to flash it, since i'm using an external USB enclosure, do i need to plug it in somewhere via IDE?

No, you likely don't need to flash it at all... You may want to if it's not bitsetting DVD+R DL to DVD-Rom, but even then you don't have to to burn a successful backup.

And for the record, the pioneer 111d (and all 111 series drives for that matter) auto bitset dvd+r dl to dvd-rom out of the box... So you're all set there.

Looks like the 'bug' in 10.4.9 was a fluke; we have confirmation of successful burns in 10.4.9 with iburn on both ppc and intel macs atm.
