Guys, I really hope some of you can help out because I think I am really close to getting this to work, but I need a little help.
Last night I modded my 360 with a Hitachi 78 drive. I followed the Textbook manual by 360mods.net (http://www.360mods.net/tutorial/Textbook.pdf) and used 360 Firmware Toolbox. When I ran through the steps, it all seemed to work fine. ModeB, performed a backup of the original firmware, etc.
I thought everything was cool and I burned a game from an .iso file with CloneCD on my IBM laptop. I used a DL verbatim DVD which I have read was the best type, but when I put it in, I get an unreadable disk. So, I tried to burn it with Alcohol 120% and it did the same thing.
My question is, how can I tell if it is a bad burn, a bad firmware upgrade, or a bad DVD drive? I hate to keep making coasters with DVDs that cost 2-3 bucks a pop. The 360 can play original games without issue.
Can someone PLEASE help me out! I think I am SO CLOSE to getting this finished up!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
CloneCD is definitely the way to go, that or ImgBurn. Verbatim is also good, so the only thing that seems wrong is the burner. Get yourself an external dvdwriter, preferably a Pioneer 111D,112D and use that to burn. If the flash failed you would still get the Please insert this disc in a 360 video when you put in a copy. Which you don't.. so, it's probably the writer in your IBM causing the problems.
