Newbie Problem With Back Up Help!
« on: March 07, 2007, 09:17:00 AM »

Hi I have a 360  with xtreme 4.2a, a samsung SHD-162C with Kreon 0.81 for scanning and have used my acer notebook with LG GSA-4082N. I am using Verbatim DVD-R DL 8.5 GB x2.4 media and am making coasters? I used XBC v2.4 for scan & burn and am getting a miscompare error when verifying in imageburn, any ideas what the problem is? The game is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which boots up fine then locks up when loading a game.
The error log for the verifying screen is:

You may want to start by converting the HDD to NTFS

I partitioned the C: drive and saved the image on the drive letter d: which was formatted as an NTFS, is this wrong? When I first tried to read to d: it gave me the FAT 32 error, so I reformatted as NTFS.

Can do, just don't want to waste any more Verbs if there is an obvious problem. I assume the LG burner should be ok? I am pretty confident the iso file is good, so is there a problem with the burn. I can try Schtrom, but I understood that XBC, imageburn & Schtrom all do pretty much the same thing.

I saw someone else has had success backing up with the above without any issues. Could it be a problem with the game as it is very new?

Just used imageburn and whilst the verification worked perfectly, the game still locks up when you load a campaign. Can there be some added security on this game?

I suggest having a look at rpc1.org and seeing if there is a firmware update for the burner.

from everything you say, you have burn games in the past, good media... so the setup for burning is good. If it is only that game, could be an image problem.
I would try redo the image with schtrom if you havent tried yet, run the stealth check on it to see if all the pieces are there.

OK, I said my other back ups were ok, after checking them again, even though they ripped and burned fine and got 100% verification and stealth check, they all seem to boot up fine, go through the opening screens but at the first loading they freeze!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

I have used either XBC and/or imageburn, haven't tried Schtrom yet, but don't want to waste any more Verbs before I know what the problem is.
