Most of my backups are working after adjusting my laser but the only problem i have is the Memorex Backups that use to needs eject each time to play where the first try gets the famous "Open Tray" error. After i updated from NBA Street Homecourt that i just bought. EVERY backup thats using the Memorex brand is not even getting OPEN TRAY errors no more, it just throws me the UNPLAYABLE DISC error everytime, ejecting and closing is not even working anymore, originals are playing fine too. The funny thing about it is that my Verbatims are playing fine before and after the update. Could the new update be a problem?

All my backups are on verbatims and work fine, including Homecourt. I suggest you stick with verbatims and stop using memorex.

thanks for the reply, my original concern was that do you guys think due to the update from homecourt, that causes the drive not to force itself to read no more. Because it was forcing itself to read until it finds the right area to load. Usually before it would do the usual 3 clicks, then about 20 secs later give me the open tray error. Now it give me 3 clicks, then unplayable disc right away. I just have a feeling somethings up with the update... anyone agree?

asked and answered a 1000+ times, use good media and no the update is not you problem, and no need to ask twice!!
