Help...! To Play This Disc, Put It In An Xbox 360 Console
« Reply #15 on: March 08, 2007, 06:38:00 AM »

Wxripper does not extract the SS, remember the line where you put a D (to avoid trying to extract data and put dummy instead). So the SS in wxripper is and was never good.
You need to use the game partition extracted with wxripper (try extracting it from the rest as per my post above) and then merge with the SS extracted on your drive.

Maybe also the ss extracted on your drive is not good (it happens with hitachi), you could try connecting your drive and use the drive tools in XBCreator to extract the SS.
You are not tempted  wink.gif  to buy a SHD162C in your PC to do all the extract, works everytime (you are currently paying it in coaster), and it will be a lot simpler then opening your x360 everytime for the SS.

Well it may be One thing to go and open your new XBOX360™ up and re-flash the Firmware on the DVD-ROM Drive.
In my Mind however it's another to go and fook 'round w/stripping the DVD-ROM Drive just to make Backups via the Wx-Riping Method.
~It just doesn't seem like a good long-term idea!~

Have you heard about these Kreon Firmware enabled Drives?!

PATA
Samsung SH-D162C
Toshiba TS-H352C

or there SATA equivalents
Samsung SH-D163A
Toshiba TS-H353A

These are PC-DVD-ROM Drive which can be flashed w/a Firmware to make, making Backups a cinch!
The best part is you can usually find the PATA versions for around €20.00(EUR) or less, I haven't come across any of the SATA Drives yet though.

But getting One of these Drive has saved me what little Hair I have left.
All in all it was the single best €20.00(EUR) I have ever spent on a DVD-ROM Drive...

Hi,

My Samsung SH-D162C drive arrived this morning, but now I have different problems...!

I did a backup of Rainbow vegas using XBC, all went fine perfect image created - tried to burn using IMGBurn but it came up with an error.
~I/O Error! CDB: 2A 00 00 08 CD A0 00 00 20 00
~Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 576928 - 576959
~Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired
Then came a simular error with 'Invalid address for write'

I tried to burn it with clonecd but it halted at 5% with no error message just hangs there.

I have used 2 different Verbatim discs from 2 different packs, exactly the same.
I have the screen dumps if you really need them...!

I feel like i take 2 steps forward and then 1 step back...LOL unsure.gif

Can anyone help.....!

Cheers

Hi,

.NET is installed - I'm using EASY IDE to usb as my 111d is external, I have a feeling that the firmware on that is not upto the task.

So i'm just putting my desktop pc back together and will install the drive via my scsi to see if that makes a difference as I also have a pioneer on that one and it never let me down in the past.

Will let you know how i get on.

Cheers for the prompt reply..!

Success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !..........Success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !............Success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !............Success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !...........Success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !

Woo Hoo! After 2 weeks of pulling my hair out and 20 very expensive coasters later I have finally had success and created my first working backup, and it plays like a dream...! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The problem turned out to be my IDE to usb adapter connected from my pioneer 111d to my laptop, as I have a laptop this was best choice at the time - the firmware on the adapter was not upto the task and there was no way to change it either.

So tonight I dug out my old desktop pc and hard wired the pioneer 111d to my scsi controller, transferred the image over my network onto the desktop pc and fired up XBC and burned the image with IMGBurn.

I watched for 35 mins waiting for that bl**dy error message to come up, as I had got used to seeing it, but NO it ran right through with no problems whatsoever, my mouth dropped to the floor...lol - Put the disc in the x360 and bingo it Worked...you should have seen my face....!

One final note before you can close this thread forever is that:
If you have a laptop and are using the pioneer 111d via an EASY IDE ADAPTER or other IDE ADAPTER to usb and get the following errors, find a desktop pc and hard wire in via regular IDE cables and use your pioneer 111d that way to burn images.
Error I had using IMGBurn:
~I/O ERROR - CDB: 2A 00 00 08 CD A0 00 00 20 00 - Reason: The semaphore timeout period expired (This basically mean't that the laptop stopped communicating with the pioneer 111D), this was then followed by an invalid address for write error(This was also due to the laptop not communicating with the pioneer 111D)~

Error I had using CloneCD:
~The write process halted at 5% and another at 15% and another at 25% and CloneCD just sat and waited for it to resume, but it never does(I think the same thing happened again, the laptop stopped communicating with the pioneer 111D)

***Even when I stripped the image down and then rebuilt it using ISOrebuilder and successfully burnt it, it gave me my original error of: To Play This Disc, Put It In An Xbox 360 Console, this just shows that the imaging software had problems communicating with the pioneer 111D via USB to IDE through the adapter but never threw up an error***

I know this is a long thread, but this may help some other forum members that are having simular problems and point them in the write direction and if possible one of the developers could look into why the communication stops when using some IDE to USB adapters, I will also look into this as well and report back later.

I would just like to thank everyone for their helpful comments and especially sosotiit for keeping me sane through all of this.

Point is never give up, there is always a solution, usually its right under your nose...!LOL

Thanks again, i'm off now to do some more...!LOL  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yes, but after I got the Samsung drive this morning I used XBC.

When I extracted and broke down the image and rebuilt it before, it always halted at the same place everytime with whatever software I used.

I used the USB to extract the whole game using XBC via the Samsung, but the USB just does not like writing any image back to any drive.

When I have a bit more time on my hands I will look into it.

Thanks again. biggrin.gif
