Dvd±rw Compatibility
« on: February 28, 2007, 04:48:00 PM »

Hello everyone! I've read all the pinned topics and I havn't found anything relating to this topic. I know it is difficult to get a DVD±RW disc to successfully load in a Microsoft Xbox 360 console with a TS-H943 DVD drive, but I've heard of people that have done this successfully... I know DVD±R is the "way to go", but I would like to be able to rewrite that data on the disc. May someone please be nice enough to tell me the DVD±RW disc that is most likely to boot up in my Microsoft Xbox 360 console with a TS-H943 DVD drive? I don't care about the cost. If you have successfully gotten a DVD±RW disc to boot up in your Microsoft Xbox 360 console with a TS-H943 DVD drive, please reply telling me the exact model of the disc. Thank you very much!

So your basically saying Xtreme Firmware v5.1^ let's people boot single layer DVD±RW discs on a Microsoft Xbox 360 console with a TS-H943 DVD drive? How is this possible? I thought the disc had to be double layered in order for it to boot? Also, is there a specific DVD±RW model recommendation? Thank you very much!

(v5.0)   360 file ISO support (Work in progress. New QWIX tool to come)

which means that the building of ISO image for the x360 game on SL is not ready.
Note that most game do not fit anyway, so some work is still required for cleaning/compressing/... in order to make them fit.
According to the release the QWIX team is working on it, and believe that Badsheepy is doing it as well.

look at the pinned for info on SL.

Single layer is supported already since 5.0, only a question of supporting it with rewritable since 5.1
It works well for xbox1 games to be played on a X360.

Now the other reality is this
which means that the building of ISO image for the x360 game on SL is not ready.

So let me get this straight... You're saying that Xtreme Firmware v5.0^ supports single layer discs but if you compress a Microsoft Xbox 360 video game to an ISO image and burn it to a single layer disc it wont boot up? What's the point of the v5.0 update? I'm sort of confused as of now and your english is pretty darn sloppy (no offense). Let me please rephrase my question... Is there any DVD±RW discs that I can successfully burn an original Microsoft Xbox game to and boot up on my Microsoft Xbox 360 console? (Yes or no question). If so, please tell me the model number of the DVD±RW disc that is most likely to work. Thank you very much!

Only xbox 1 games on xbox 360 work on single layer at the moment.

I have a single verbatim dvd+rw and it works better than any other disc i have, but others have reported no luck with them. It pretty much depends on your drive, so try one and see.

oh and saying 'no offense' doesnt actually mean you arent being offensive tongue.gif

Yes it does. If I were being offensive, I would say offense. Also, what DVD drive do you have?

I'm buying the DVD±RW disc now... Which one do you recommend? DVD-RW or DVD+RW? Thank you very much!

So just to be clear here, you are backing up XBOX1 games and not XBOX360 titles, correct?
