Alright, this is my absolute last resort.
I have the SH-163A drive flashed with the Kreon Firmware.
It comes up fine in xbox backup creator. It recognizes the disc, and it even says it has the Kreon firmware. But for the love of God, I can not click start. It doesn't give me the option. I have the right drive selected, I have a xbox original disc in the drive. I have searched everywhere and I can't find shit about it.
The flashing software, SDFNWIN I believe it's called, has all my drives listed in the pulldown menu, but none of the drives info pops up when I select them. When I try to flash the firmware again (although it is already flashed) it gives me an incompatible firmware error.
I thought it might be my onboard SATA (I have an ASUS A8V mobo), so I bought the RC-212 Rosewill SATA controller card. It has the 6421 chipset I've seen is recommended, so I figured it would work. I get the SAME exact error.
I've tried reinstalling XBC. I've tried switching sata ports, I've tried updating the SATA drivers, I have tried every damn thing I've been able to find, but I am having no luck. It's driving me nuts.
When I hook it up to the onboard SATA on another computer with an A8V-XE mobo, it works flawlessly. It is driving me fucking BANANAS. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anyone ever experience this before?
I've also tried Schtrom and XDVDMueller (I think those are the names). Is there another program that might work that someone could link me up to?
I also read somewhere that someone had this problem because their IDE driver was outdated. I can't find an updated driver for my motherboard anywhere. Any suggestions as to that?
I've purchased the 162-C to avoid the SATA problem, but I get the feeling that's not going to help.
For the love of all that is good, PLEASE help me!
