Unbelievable, man you are working hard for this.

is it seen as kreon at least in the scroll window,
When you put the game in and selected the drive in the top window, what is said in the bottom window.
Make sure all you pc drivers are updated,
try it on different SATA port
.net installed,
use the installer in the package,
try spti/aspi
mention this (and put a link to this thread) in XBCr 2.4 thread

We will get there ( I am the same, my X360 MB went three red lights last weekend  grr.gif  grr.gif )
rgds,soso

EDIT: and the next one is to create a partition on your harddisk and start a new XP  on it from fresh and try it on that. (I know it is really a tempting proposition  sad.gif )

Getting media info [F]
   Media Type: DVD-ROM
Bytes Used: 7.05 GB (7,572,881,408 bytes)

It doesn't give me the option of Kreon Firmware but it recognizes the drive.

Found ODD: TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D163A SB00 at [F]
   Additional Info: XB360 KREON V0.80

next suggestion?

biggrin.gif  all in the above post and remove the FW branding in the options tab.

also when you select/deselect your kreon drive in the top window, does it create any change?

and post it in the xbc4 thread.

I'm trying to make a game backup with my Pioneer 111D drive. Do i have to use my 360's drive to extract the game? I'm running vista and have XBC which runs and recognized the game, but won't allow me to start the process. Thanks for your help.

You can use magiciso iso creator to create iso file of your game dvd.  It is very easy.

hi RBOD, confirmed that your d163a was flashed with kreon's 0.80 firmware for d163a and not kreon's 0.81 firmware for d162c?  could you try xbc ver 2.2 or 2.3 with other games such as PGR3, NFS-Carbon or xbox1 games such as Fonza, Fables Lost Chapters, Halo1 and Halo2.  if you are able to extract them, then your drive/system are ok.  i am able to extract these games but my drive is d162c with kreon's 0.81 fw, pioneer 111d with 1.23 fw, OS is XP SP2.  oh, btw, i did install adaptec ASPI and i actually did a 'force' install for win2K even though i am using XP.  did a aspichk and it said ok.  just a side stepping issue.  cheers.

I don't have another pc with sata. and there is no Master/Slave setting with it being an SATA drive.

Ed, I will check those things. I'm willing to do anything right about now. I got the pioneer burner, samsung drive, sata card, spool of DL media, etc...but i can't back-up my games. frustration doesn't even describe it.

The Samsung Sh-d163a drive WILL NOT rip a game if it's plugged into a VIA sata card. I never thought of this because XBC and every other program saw the game in the drive. For some reason it just didn't work. I hooked it straight to my board and all is well. Thanks to everyone (especially sosotiit) for their help. Hopefully someone learns from my 2 week battle.
