Why Some Game Work For Samsung While But Not On Hatachi...?

Nothing to do with SS.

Both can play backup of all games.

If you have the latest firmware 2.3 on you hitachi, it should be OK.

I am tempted to say, try some verbatim to see if you have the same problem.

drives can be very picky.  you could have two identical samsungs and one could work and the other not.  It really depends on the drive laser and such.  As Soso stated, I would only use verbatim discs, they are a proven best media hands down.

@jabroniekilla

Good point, it certainly could be that this specific hitachi drive is not the most performant of his kind.

Well it's no secret that Hitachi drives in general are more fussy than the Samsung drives (even with the latest firmware updates).  As mentioned above it's hard to go wrong with Verbatim D/L media.

My Idol Master backup (JAP) won't boot AT ALL on my JAP X360 (Hitachi 47dj), and it "boots" normally on my US X360 (Samsung ms28), but then I get the "wrong region" message...

destroy that copy and reburn with good media, using Imgburn (set Booktype depending on your hitachi fw version, but it does not hurt anyway) on a good burner!!!
Helping on a problem is nice, with info it is easier  wink.gif ,

SOmething could be wrong with you Pioneer or your PC. Usually it should work even with stock Firmware.

Before going into that, why not simply do a backup of another game and try it on your ms28, just to be sure your setup is OK.
If it is then your 47dj might simply be less performant.

How are the original playing on each?
How have you done the backup?
-for ss.bin which software & drive
-for game.iso which software & drive
-how was it merged

I still did not make another backup of the Idol Master, because I am afraid the one I already have MIGHT be all right. I was not in the mood to waste a DL media (and time) for nothing. So I tested the hitachi drive with my backups of both Dead Rising and Gears of War (both work perfect on my Samsung drive), and the games won't boot at all on the hitachi. Call of Duty 3 backup DOES boot but the game gets reading errors at the beginning...

Gonna tweak the drive a bit next week and hope it gets better reading...

Will post results and anything else!
